ABOUT LUCY WILKINS

Lucy is an award-winning Melbourne-based Costume Designer who graduated from The Victorian College of The Arts in 2015 with a bachelor in Production Design. She started working in the Hobart theatre community when she was just fifteen as a costume designer and maker as well as hair and makeup artist and wig stylist. During her six years working in Hobart Lucy built up a strong reputation for her design work and was in very high demand; often juggling multiple projects. Since her graduation from The Victorian College of the Arts in 2015 Lucy has worked on a large number of shows in Melbourne and is fast becoming one of Melbourne's most prolific young designers too. Lucy is currently enjoying exploring the world of Opera design and in 2016 was asked to become the Resident Designer at Lyric Opera of Melbourne; whose production of Pygmalion scored Lucy a Green Room Award nomination in 2017.
What impresses me about Lucy's capabilities is that she not only has the professional and managerial skills to deliver quality results on schedule, she also has the creativity and knowledge to make a shoestring budget look like thousands and thousands of dollars on stage. She is a gem and she is a delight to work with. Professional, charming, efficient and friendly."
